  • The beach that I grew up on is rated the #1 beach in the USA! I love going back home to vacation on Siesta Key where my family still lives.
  • I graduated from Covenant College in Lookout Mtn. GA with a BA in English and Secondary Education (certified to teach grades 7-12).
  • I played volleyball in high school and in college.
  • I married Mike Agate in 2001. He is manager at Turner Dairy and the best husband and dad in the world!
  • I have three kiddos, Maddie (17), Owen (14), and Sawyer (12).

  • I have twenty one nieces and nephews...so far...! Each and every one is very special to me.  One of my favorite titles is "Aunt Katie."
  • My sister married my husband's brother.  (It's not weird; promise!  I highly recommend it.)
  • I love to travel!  "The world is a book, and those who do not travel read only a page." - Saint Augustine
  • I love to read!  "That is part of the beauty of all literature. You discover that your longings are universal longings, that you're not lonely and isolated from anyone. You belong." -F. Scott Fitzgerald
  • I love music! "Beautiful music is the art of the prophets that can calm the agitations of the soul; it is one of the most magnificent and delightful presents God has given us." - Martin Luther
  • I love teaching!  “The best thing for being sad," replied Merlin, beginning to puff and blow, "is to learn something. That's the only thing that never fails. You may grow old and trembling in your anatomies, you may lie awake at night listening to the disorder of your veins, you may miss your only love, you may see the world about you devastated by evil lunatics, or know your honour trampled in the sewers of baser minds. There is only one thing for it then — to learn. Learn why the world wags and what wags it. That is the only thing which the mind can never exhaust, never alienate, never be tortured by, never fear or distrust, and never dream of regretting. Learning is the only thing for you. Look what a lot of things there are to learn.” -T.H. White, The Once and Future King
  • I love CS Lewis! “I believe in Christianity as I believe that the sun has risen: not only because I see it, but because by it I see everything else.” ― C.S. Lewis
  • Mostly, I love my Lord Jesus Christ!   "And he said to him, 'You shall love the Lord your God with all your heart and with all your soul and with all your mind. This is the great and first commandment. And a second is like it: You shall love your neighbor as yourself.'" -Matthew 22:37-39
