The Hobbit Field Trip...

I am very excited about the upcoming field trip on Tuesday, December 18th.  This is my first time organizing a field trip, and I greatly appreciate all the willing drivers!

I have the following people down for driving: Andy Schmidt, Dan VerHill, Karen Merritt, Robyn Crawley, Kim Agate, Chrissy Cole, Steve Thomas, Kay Harris, John Mihalik, and myself.  Thank you all!  If you are a parent who would like to come along (although we are all set with drivers), let me know.  All are welcome to join us!  I just need to let the Loews manager know how many will be in attendance.

Parents, meet us in the cafeteria at 8:40AM next Tuesday, and we will leave at 9AM.  Tickets are $10.50 for everyone.  Parents who have not paid yet, can pay that morning.

Also, to clarify...we are seeing the movie in IMAX 3D because the movie was actually made to be seen in 3D (watch the video, below...the new 3D technology is super interesting!).  The IMAX part was only 50 cents more.  Also, aside from the 8th grade class trips to DC, the middle schoolers have not had a field trip in the last two years which helped me to mentally justify the higher price of this trip.  Please know that if the $10.50 cost is a hardship at this time of year, just send me a personal note, and the cost of your student's ticket will be taken care of.

I am so glad to have shared this classic literature with the students, I have enjoyed sharing in their passion for The Hobbit, and I can't wait to experience Tolkein's Middle Earth on a ginormous screen! :)
